Labor Day Weekend is upon us.  Next week the public schools will open, so please remember to watch for the children and the school buses. 

Mount Laurel Township Schools:  The first day of school for the 2007-2008 school year is Wednesday, September 5 for students in Grades Pre-First through Grade 8. That day will be an early dismissal day, and no lunch will be served. Preschool (3-5 year-olds) and Kindergarten students will begin classes a day later, on Thursday, September 6th.  Click here for the complete school year calendar

Lenape High School:  The first day of school will be Wednesday, September 5^th.  All students will need to be in their homeroom by 7:30am. The construction projects at Lenape are moving forward.  Since late June 2007, work has begun on the new Auditorium, new North Cafeteria and connecting hallway between the south and north buildings.  Work has also begun on the new gymnasium and athletic training room which will be built next to the Media Center and A and E hallways.  In addition, the south parking lot is being expanded and the dirt lot is currently being enlarged and paved.  Click here for more information: Lenape High School

5K Race - September 15, 2007 - Fall Festival:  This is another reminder from me -  at 8:30am we have a 5K Race in Laurel Acres Park.  The race takes place in the park in its entirety.  You do not have to run out on the local streets so it is a good opportunity to test yourself if you have never run in a 5K Race before.  The distance is a mere 3.1 miles. If you have any problems downloading the form or if you have any questions, please contact me.  The race precedes the Fall Festival which is set for Saturday, September 15, 2007 (rain date is September 16th).  Opening ceremonies for the Festival begin at 11am - the Festival ends at 4pm.

Mount Laurel Basketball:   Registration opens for the 2007-2008 winter program in mid-September and will remain open until the end of October.  Tryouts for travel teams for players in grades 4 through 8 will be held beginning the 2nd week of October. Please check their website for more information - click here: Mount Laurel Basketball

Mount Laurel Library: Starting Sunday, September 9 at 3pm. The library is offering Belly Dancing Lessons from Middle Eastern Dancer and Entertainer, Fatima. Guaranteed to raise your heart rate and exercise new muscles. Suitable for all skill levels.
