More Open Space Bought:
On June 14, 2007, Township Council completed its purchase of the
Blue Hills Horse Farm on Hainesport-Mount Laurel Road. Another 8 acres
preserved as Open Space in the township.
Further to the Above Article: At its June 18, 2007 meeting, the
Township Council introduced two Ordinances for first reading authorizing
submission to the voters of Mount Laurel, a proposition to amend the sunset
provisions of the 1998 and 2001 Voter approved referendum for funding Mount
Laurel's Open Space Program. The final reading will take place for a
public hearing at its July 2, 2007 Council Meeting. If passed at this
hearing, the ordinance will be placed on this years ballot for voters to pass
either one or both by popular vote. Passing these ordinances will NOT
increase Taxes but merely extend the original expiration date by 20 years on
each, which would allow the Township to be able to fund future Open Space
purchases and allow future residents to help pay for our
current AND future purchases.
New Recreation Facility Update:
The Township
Council has agreed to begin meetings with the Mount Laurel Fleetwood Football
club in regards to the design of the proposed all purpose turf field that it is
planning to construct as soon as all the State permits are received. Mayor
Mark Sanchirico and Deputy Mayor John Drinkard will be meeting with the
President of Fleetwood Football Tom Perry and others.
North Branch of the Pennsauken Creek Flooding
Report: The Township released a report dated February 9, 2007 which
discusses past flooding issues in the Ramblewod section along the North Branch
of the Pennsauken Creek and makes some recommendations to help alleviate future
problems. I scanned in the report but left off the Appendix to save space
on this website. Click on this link to read the report:

thank you for your support.
