Dear Neighbors,

Welcome to the latest edition of the Mount Laurel First E-News letter.

If you have news that you think should be included in my next E-News letter, please send me the information at JimKeenan@MountLaurelFirst.com
Remember that this E-News letter is dedicated to Mount Laurel news.

Township Council:  Is preparing to file its fair share housing plan with the court by March 31, 2010.  Mount Laurel has been ordered by the court to prepare and file its housing plan showing how it will comply with the 1,421 units that the COAH assigned to Mount Laurel when it adjusted its assessment in June of 2008.  Council has been authorizing its attorney to petition the court for a reduction in this new assessment but to no avail.  The Planning Board has held three public meetings to review the plan and has now recommended adoption by Council according to the law.

Mount Laurel Striders:

A running club based here in Mount Laurel, will be holding its first practice on Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at the Lenape High School Track at 6pm.  Sign ups will also be held at that time.  For more information send an email with your question to StriderRunners@aol.com

Meet Jon Runyan:
I have been asked by Jon Runyan to invite residents of Mount Laurel to come meet him on Thursday, March 18, 2010 from 7-9pm at the Westin Hotel located at 555 Fellowship Road in Mount Laurel.  Jon has been a champion for many fundraisers around the area and I have decided to give a little back to him by placing this invite here in my E-News letter.  Jon has announced his candidacy for Congress to represent New Jersey's 3rd Congressional District.  It will be a good time to meet him and ask him some questions on how he will represent Mount Laurel's interests in Washington.  Jon is a Mount Laurel resident and he will be there to greet you from 7-9pm.

Mount Laurel School Board:  Annual School Board Elections will be held on Tuesday, April 20, 2010.  Please check the School Board Website for information regarding the important decisions to be made that day.
